Springfield ICS Girls Shoot Past McCann Tech into Semis

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Alicia Mitchell scored 19 points, and Alexa Davis added 17 to lead the top-seeded Springfield International Charter School girls basketball team to a 65-41 win over McCann Tech Monday in the Western Massachusetts Class C quarter-finals.

 

Izzy LaCasse scored a game-high 23 for the Hornets, who trailed, 24-10, at half-time.

 

“We were reluctant to shoot in the first half and they weren’t,” McCann Tech coach Kathy Budaj said. “We did a nice job defensively, but they just kept hitting from everywhere.”

 

The Hornets slipped to 8-11 on the season with the loss.
