Carlson Scores 30 as Monument Mountain Wins Opener

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. -- Khalil Carlson scored 30 points Monday night to lead the Monument Mountain boys basketball team to a 63-50 win over Belchertown.

 

The Spartans broke open a tight game with an 18-4 run to close out the fourth quarter. The run culminated in a dunk by Carlson.

 

Three other Spartans finished the game in double figures.

 

Manny Brown scored 11 -- all in the second half. Isaiah Keefner and Sebastian Guete-Ramirez each scored 10.

 

Cal Orzech and Jackson Courchon each scored 12 for Belchertown (0-2).

 

Monument Mountain (1-0) plays its home opener on Thursday against Easthampton.
