PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Pittsfield baseball team jumped out to an early lead and then answered a Mount Greylock rally to take a 7-3 win on Friday at Pellerin Field.

The Generals (11-9) led 3-0 after the first inning, but Mount Greylock (12-7) responded in the top of the second when an error and a wild pitch fueled a three-run rally.

In the bottom of the frame, a Mount Greylock error opened the door for three PHS runs to re-establish the lead.

Ian Benoit went 2-for-4 and Marco DiNicola drove in three runs for the Generals.

Hunter Potash earned the win on the mound, allowing one earned run in four innings of work.

Mount Greylock got a 2-for-4 day at the plate from Reece Gillette.

The Mounties finish the regular season at home on Saturday against Taconic.
