AGAWAM, Mass. – Kyle Cardoso scored 26 points, and the Pittsfield boys basketball team knocked down 12 3-pointers in a 65-60 win over Agawam on Tuesday night.

Cardoso had six of those 3-pointers and scored 16 points in the third quarter, when Pittsfield outscored Agawam, 23-18, to take a five-point lead to the fourth-quarter.

Freddy Conyers scored 10 points – six on a pair of those 3-pointers.

PHS coach Jerome Edgerton said the Generals’ bench was key in the win.

“It was good to see the power of the team come together in a tough place on the road,” Edgerton said. “This team got us the last time we played at PHS, and, coming off the Taconic game, it was a much-needed quality win versus a good opponent.”

Pittsfield (9-6) is home on Friday night to face Wahconah.
