While many teams have only gotten to play one game -- or even none at all -- this spring, this week's iBerkshires.com/Southwestern Vermont Health Care Athletes of the Week have led their teams to 2-0 starts on the diamond.

Evelyn Julieano and the Lenox softball team have road wins over a couple of rivals from the old Berkshire County League, and she has factored prominently both times.

In the season opener at Lee, she was 2-for-3 with a triple in a 6-0 win.

She also earned the win in the circle, striking out eight and allowing two baserunners in five innings of work.

The next day, Julieano was 2-for-3 with a double in a 12-6 win at Drury. She also threw 2 and a third innings of scoreless relief, striking out four, walking two and giving up one hit in the process.

For the season, the ninth-grader has a .667 hitting percentage and a 0.00 earned run average -- both tops on the team.

Lenox will look to stay unbeaten on Monday when it travels to Smith Vocational, the first of three games this week for Lenox.

Pittsfield's baseball taem has two games this week, starting Tuesday with a home game on the schedule against Chicopee.

Cam Zerbato is 3-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored for the Generals -- all numbers that lead a Pittsfield offense that has scored 28 runs in its first two games.

Zerbato had a double in each of the team's first two games and worked a pair of walks to give him an OPS of 1.714.

Last year as a junior, Zerbato was hitless in nine at-bats for a senior-laden team that went to the state championship game.

The iBerkshires.com Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Southwestern Vermont Health Care.
