Greenfield Tops Taconic in Western Mass Semis

GREENFIELD, Mass. – Amber Bergeron went 3-for-3 with a double Wednesday to lead the Greenfield softball team to a 7-3 win over Taconic in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class C tournament.

 

Amelia Leasure went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Thunder, who got a pair of hits apiece from Julia Pierce and Leena Schettini.

 

Kelsey Richardson hit a two-run triple in a three-run first inning for the Green Wave that gave them a 3-2 lead.

 

Taconic struck back with a run in the top of the second, but Greenfield added single runs in the third through sixth innings to pull away.

 

Greenfield awaits the winner of Thursday’s semi-final between Franklin Tech and Mount Greylock.

 

Taconic finishes the regular season with a record of 6-13.
