St. Mary's Edges McCann Tech Boys Lacrosse

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Reilly Stewart scored eight goals Wednesady to lead the St. Mary’s boys lacrosse team to a 21-20 win over McCann Tech.

 

“It was back and forth,” McCann coach Paul Lange said. “It was a lot of fun. It was an action-packed game. It was a lot of fun to be a part of.

 

“A lot of fun to be a part of. We obviously just wish we had had a better start.”

 

The Hornets fell behind, 8-4, after one quarter but came back to tie it, 11-11, at half-time, setting the stage for a back-and-forth second half.

 

Justin Meczywor scored eight goals and added four assists for McCann, which got five goals apiece from Mike Moreno and Nick Lincoln.

 

Nico Romano stopped seven shots in the McCann goal.

 

The Hornets (1-11) go to Granby on Friday.
