PIttsfield Swimmers Drop Opener at Mount Anthony

BENNINGTON, Vt. – Lucy Poole and Emily Tibbetts each won a pair of events Friday to lead the Mount Anthony girls swimming team to a 99-59 win over Pittsfield.

 

The Patriots also took an 80-42 win in the boys meet behind Nixon Lebert, who won a pair of events as an individual and swam on two winning relay quartets.

 

Joseph Kearns won a pair of events for the Generals, taking the 500-yard freestyle in an uncontested swim and out-touching the field in the 100 backstroke.

 

Pittsfield coach Mitch Hunt said that Kearns’ backstroke time was good enough to qualify him for the Western Massachusetts tournament later this season.
