Field Leads Wahconah Girls to Narrow Road Win
NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Ellie Field swam a strong anchor leg in the day's final relay to help the Wahconah girls swim team earn a 48-46 win over New Lebanon on Monday afternoon.
Field swam her leg in 53.85 seconds to help Wahconah post a time of 4:19.17 and edge New Lebanon in the event by fewer than five seconds.
Kat Wilson, Amelia Berquist and Sabrina Holland also swam on the winning quartet in the 400 relay.
The same foursome also teamed up to win the 200 medley relay.
As an individual, Field won the 200 freestyle (2:05.64) and the 100 free (:57.25).
Holland won the 50 free in :29.84.
Alex Sotek was a double winner for New Lebanon, taking the 200 individual medley (2:38.71) and the 100 backstroke (1:13.57). New Lebanon got individual wins from Lindsey Smith in the 100 butterfly (1:20.20) and Gigi French in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.13).
Wahconah's boys won their dual meet, 72-15, behind a pair of wins each from from Noah Schweitzer, Fred Sears and Jacob Kunzman.
Kunzman won the 100 fly (1:12.49) and the 100 back (1:18.44). Sears won the 50 free (1:12.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:24.13). Schweitzer won the 200 free (2:06.74) and 500 free (5:49.27).
Wahconah also got individual wins from Josh Kunzman in the 200 IM (2:50.66) and Bailey DiSanti in the 100 free (:59.47).
