WOODFORD, Vt. – The Berkshire County Nordic Ski League saw new varsity teams atop the leader board in Saturday’s Week 2 meet at Prospect Mountain.

The defending state champion Mount Greylock girls supplanted Amherst in a tight race for the girls team title behind Lauren Miller’s second-place finish.

The Mounties finished with 34 points, six points ahead of Amherst and Lenox, who tied for second place.

Lenox was paced by Jane Elliot, who finished third.

Both Miller and Elliot were chasing Wahconah’s Vienna Mahar, who clocked a time four seconds ahead of the field.

It was a Wahconah double for individual winners as Fritz Sanders won the boys race by a 16-second margin ahead of Mount Greylock’s Patrick Holland.

Sanders led his team to its first team win of 2025 as it edged last week’s winner, Mount Greylock, by five points.

Lenox was fourth in a crowded boys team race that saw Pioneer Valley and Simsbury, Conn. join the fray.

The Millionaires were led by Everett Shepardson, who finished 11th.
