Lee, Taconic Bowlers Each Go 2-1
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Lee and Taconic bowling teams kept pace with one another on Friday, each going 2-1 in match play to stay one point apart atop the Berkshire HIgh School Bowling League standings.
The Wildcats got strong performances from Devyn Fillio and Maddie Kotek to earn a 2-1 win over Drury.
Alyssa Smith and Abby Bliss led the way for the Thunder in a 2-1 win over Monument Mountain.
Fillio and Kotek posted the day’s best games and two-game series among the girls in action at K&M Bowling.
Fillio rolled a 203 game in her opener and finished with a 395 series. Kotek posted a 147 game and 286 series in the win over the Blue Devils.
For Drury, Zach Mongeon rolled the day’s top game in the league, a 211, and had a 348 series.
Lee remained in first place in the league, one point ahead of Taconic.
The Thunder Friday benefited from strong games by Smith and Bliss.
Smith had the league’s third-best game (143) and series (253) among its girls. Bliss was right behind her with a 136 game and 250 series.
Taconic needed those scores to get past Monument Mountain, which was led by Noah Walker with a 342 series.
Friday’s third varsity match saw McCann Tech earn a 3-0 win over Pittsfield.
The Hornets got a 195 game from Ryder Lefebvre and the day's best series, a 351, from Ryan Puntin. Pittsfield was led by Jamari Carnute with a 341 series.
The league will be in action twice this week with matches at Cove Lanes on Wednesday and Friday.
