Corcoran Goal in Final Minute Lifts Mount Everett in Finale
SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Jake Corcoran Thursday scored an unassisted goal with 27 seconds left to snap a 2-2 tie and give the Mount Everett hockey team a 3-2 win over Shepaug on Senior Night.
Corcoran finished with two goals, and Jonah Swotes stopped 26 shots.
“ It was a fitting end to the season to have Jonah play a solid game in net and Jake get the winning goal as they both carried out team throughout the season,” Mount Everett coach Aidan Gilligan said.
Shapeup scored the game’s first goal in the fourth minute.
In the first minute of the second period, Corcoran scored with assists from Max Joyner and Brendan Dempsey. But Shepaug went back on top moments later.
Late in the third, Mount Everett’s Charlie Grace scored with assists from Andrew Conlon and Carly Duval, setting the stage for Corcoran’s game-winner.
