Wahconah Sweeps Its Way to Sweet 16

DALTON, Mass. – Megan O’Bryan put down 10 kills Saturday to lead the Wahconah volleyball team to a sweep of Boston Latin in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament.
 
O’Bryan also pulled up six digs in the 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 win for 10th-seeded Wahconah (15-7), which won its sixth straight match.
 
Eve Colombari directed Wahconah’s offense with 13 assists and picked up a couple of kills of her own. Melaina Haczela chipped in with six assists.
 
Taea Cunagin pulled up a team-high eight digs and served a team-high four aces.
 
Madison Judson and Oliva Cole-Carr each had six digs in the win.
 
Wahconah advances to the Sweet 16, where it will travel to face No. 7 East Bridgewater, a 3-0 winner of Lynn Vo-Tech in the first round.
