Pittsfield and Greylock Girls, Wahconah Boys Rack Up Wins

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Pittsfield’s girls and Wahconah’s boys each boasted a pair of double-winners on Friday in the season’s second track and field meet at Mount Greylock.

 

Dezerea Powell won the 100 meter dash and the long jump, and Zoe Ruth Brizan took the shot put and the discus for the Generals in the girls meet.

 

Mount Greylock’s Katherine Goss also won two events, taking the girls 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles.

 

Mount Greylock’s girls also picked up individual titles from Brenna Lopez (3200 meters), Maire Scanlon (triple jump) and Nora Lopez (javelin) to go along with a sweep of the relays.

 

In the boys meet, Wahconah’s Lorenzo Lewis won the 200 and 400, while his teammate Cooper Calvert leapt to victory in the high jump and triple jump.

 

Also doubling in the boys meet was Lenox’s Benjamin Harwood in the mile and the 2-mile.

 

All county teams except for Monument Mountain participated in the event.
