Gamberoni's Late Goal Lifts Wahconah Girls into Western Mass Tourney

DALTON, Mass. -- Victoria Gamberoni scored in the closing seconds Friday to give the Wahconah girls soccer team a 2-1 win over Hoosac Valley as Wahconah clinched a berth in the Western Massachusetts tournament.

 

With one game left, Wahconah improved to 7-6-4. It still has a chance to finish second the Berkshire County North Division when it hosts Pittsfield on Monday night in the regular season finale.

 

Hoosac Valley (5-5-5) finishes with Mount Greylock at Renfrew Field on Monday night with a chance to play its way into the tournament. In their first meeting, the Mounties handed the Hurricanes a 3-1 setback.
