James J. McKenna, 91

ADAMS, Mass. —Mr. James J. McKenna, 91, of Manchester, VT, a longtime resident of Adams, died Friday afternoon, August 23, 2024 at his home. He was born in Adams on August 12, 1933, the son of the late James McKenna and Wanda (Novak) McKenna Casino. He attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School. He served for several years with Co. M, 104th Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts Army National Guard in Adams. Jim worked for the Berkshire Gas Co. for 30 years, until retiring as Vice President for Customer Service in 1992. He resided in Adams his whole life until moving to Vermont in October 2022. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and had been a member of the Lake St. Catherine (VT) Country Club for many years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, trips to the Saratoga Racetrack and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, the former Barbara S. Kozik, whom he married on August 27, 1955; son James K. McKenna and his fiancée Lee Reinhold of Hampton, NH; daughters Wendy L. Murphy and her husband Scott of Bennington, VT and Bonnie J. Musto and her husband Edward of Westwood, MA; 10 grandchildren including Daniel McKenna and his wife Crystal, Michael McKenna, Jennifer Murphy and her partner Michael, Patrick Murphy, Ryan Murphy and his partner Kristin, Timothy Murphy, Hollie Musto and her partner Dennis, Andrew Musto and his wife Danielle, Michael Musto, and Hannah Musto and her fiancée Brian; 11 great grandchildren including Jillian, Brinley, McKenna, Emily, Benjamin, Molly, Nathan, Madilyn, Daniel, Olivia, and Colton; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5th at 12 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams, MA. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5th from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM, directly before the Mass, in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, MA.
