THE LIFE, MUSIC, & MYSTERY OF CONNIE CONVERSE
North Adams, 6 p.m.

Join MASS MoCA’s R&D Store and the North Adams PUblic Library for a free presentation & reading with author Howard Fishman of To Anyone Who Ever Asks, a book that chronicles the mysterious true story of Connie Converse — a mid-century New York City songwriter, singer, & composer whose haunting music never found broad recognition — and one writer’s quest to understand her life. Supported by years of research, travel to everywhere she lived (including North Adams), & hundreds of extensive interviews, Fishman approaches Converse’s story as both a fan and a journalist, expertly weaving a hopeful, inspiring, melancholic, and chilling narrative of her life & music. 3rd floor community room. All are welcome. Howard will be joined by writer Anne Margaret Daniel!  Copies of To Anyone Who Ever Asks will be available for purchase after the event, or you can preorder one here: https://massmoca.org/research-development-store/  Any questions, please email Assistant Library Director Ryan Miller at rmiller@northadams-ma.gov, or give us a call.   The North Adams Public Library is located at 74 Church Street, North Adams, MA, 01247.
