BUTTER DISH WORKSHOP
North Adams, 10 am - 1 pm

Join us for a hands-on pottery workshop where you'll craft your very own ceramic butter dish! In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll guide you through a variety of handbuilding techniques to shape your dish, followed by creative decoration methods to make it uniquely yours. Whether you're new to pottery or looking to explore a new craft, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to make a beautiful and functional piece for your kitchen.

Kids welcome with an adult - if you’re coming with a kid only buy 1 spot (to create a butter dish together)!

Pieces will be glazed & fired by studio staff and can be picked up 2-3 weeks after the class.

STORYTIME WITH STAY & PLAY
Becket, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Becket Athenaeum hosts a storytime from 10:30 to 11:30 followed by an hour of stay and play with toys, games, puzzles, and snacks for the kids, along with coffee, tea, snacks, and time for connection for the caregivers. Stop by for either or both.

PORTRAITURE WORKSHOP: CAPTURING A LIKENESS
Stockbridge, 11:00AM-12:30PM

Join in an artist-led workshop about portraiture with Anita Kunz, whose work is on view in Original Sisters: Portraits of Courage and Tenacity. Learn how to draw a portrait by using a photograph as source material. Participants will be introduced to Kunz’s step-by-step process of careful observation and visual analysis. All drawing skill levels are welcome; art technical guidance will be provided. 

Participants should bring a photograph or other source material that they want to use as the basis of their drawing. Drawing materials will be provided. Class size is limited; please register in advance.  $20 plus admission; $20 for members.

CAROL JOY MUNRO: "SPRINGTIME STORKS" STORYTIME AND PUPPET CRAFT

Join the Milne Public Library in Williamstown for a storytime with Carol Joy Munro, who will read from her debut picture book, Springtime Storks. Based on a true story, Springtime Storks is an ode to the resilience, dedication, and love between two migratory birds, while also delivering an urgent message of conservation.   Following the storytime, kids will make their own stork hand puppets and learn more about storks and their migration patterns!

MK SMITH DESPRES: "NIGHT SONG" STORYTIME

Join the Lenox Library on May 10 at 1pm for a special storytime with author Mk Smith Despres! Mk will read from their lyrical picture book Night Song and lead an activity.   Every morning as the sun rises, Bernardo the frog loves greeting the day by listening to the beautiful birdsong that fills the woods with joy. Inspired, Bernardo attempts to sing, too... but his croaking voice doesn't quite have the same effect.
