Southern Berkshire Chamber Business Person of the Year

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce announces this year's Business Person of the Year: Chuck Leach, President, and CEO of Lee Bank. 
 
A non-board nominations committee reviewed dozens of submissions from the business community and general public.
 
Chuck Leach has been President and CEO of Lee Bank since 2015; his experience in banking, investing and wealth management stretches back to 1999. He previously worked as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President of Wealth Management and Chief Investment Officer at Berkshire Bank Wealth Management (2007-2015) and, prior to that, was Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager at TD Bank Wealth Management Group (2002-2007).
 
He was Vice President of the Gilder Technology Group and the Telecosm Fund from 1999-2002. Active in many community organizations, Leach is currently a Board Member and Treasurer of CHP Berkshires, a Trustee of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc., and a Board Member of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, South County Fund. He and his wife, Leigh, have two children and they reside in Lee.

The Business Person of the Year celebration in Leach's honor is on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, 5:00pm, at Catamount Mountain Resort, 17 Nicholson Road, Southern Egremont, MA. All community members are invited.

Teams Sought for 25th Monument Cup

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Registration is ongoing for the 25th annual Monument Cup 3-on-3 youth soccer tournament.
 
The event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Monument Mountain Regional High School.
 
Teams of up to four players are eligible to compete in boys and girls divisions in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups.
 
The registration fee is $100 per team, and all teams are guaranteed at least three matches with the top four teams in each division advancing to the semi-finals.
 
Space is limited. Each division is capped at 16 teams.
 
The final match in each of the six divisions will be played on Monument Mountain's varsity soccer field.
