As Tanglewood enters its third week, massed stellar performances will take center stage in Ozawa Hall and in the Koussevitsky Shed. Why go? To experience world-class instrumental soloists, the Boston Symphony performs chamber and orchestral masterworks by iconic Czech masters Janacek, Dvorak, and to experience two landmark works: Mozart’s great operatic masterpiece “Don Giovanni” and Brahms’ resplendent choral magnum opus, “A German Requiem.”

If the offerings at Tanglewood aren’t enough to pique your musical interest, there are also outstanding chamber music performances to be enjoyed at the intimate and warm-spirited Sevenars Music Festival in South Worthington, Mass.

Read on for the musical details at both venues. Each presents great music performed by marvelous performers and within idyllic settings.
