McGrath Leads Hoosac Valley Girls Past Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Averie McGrath scored 13 points Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls basketball team to a 71-21 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Five different Hurricanes scored at least nine points, and nine Hoosac players put their name in the scorebook.

 

Annie Canales hit four 3-pointers to score 12 points, and Kayley Winn scored 11. Gabby Billetz and Sarah Field scored nine points apiece.

 

Abby Wade led Monument Mountain with five points.

 

The Spartans (2-10) hosts Brattleboro, Vt., on Saturday afternoon.

 

Hoosac Valley (11-3) takes a five-game winning streak into Monday’s game against unbeaten Taconic in Pittsfield.
