BELCHERTOWN, Mass. — Laura Cote scored 10 points, and the Belchertown girls basketball team outscored Drury by 13 points in the first quarter en route to a 44-35 win on Thursday night.

"You simply can’t do that when you are on the road and expect to win," Drury coach Ian Downey said. "We outscored Belchertown, 31-27, the rest of the way.

"The girls fought hard and we cut it to eight in the third. We had a fast break opportunity to cut it to six, but we overthrew a wide open girl. Kind of summed up our night. Too many missed opportunities."

Morgan Sarkis scored 10 points to lead Drury, which got six from Jacinta Felix.

The Blue Devils (5-6) host Mount Greylock on Friday night.
