LEE, Mass. – Giana Carlino and Mia Puleri each scored 15 points Thursday to lead the Lee girls basketball team to a 63-25 win over Mahar in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

Puleri finished with a double-double, grabbing 12 rebounds to go with her scoring.

Kenzie Garrity added nine points for the Wildcats, who jumped out to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

“A nice team win tonight,” Lee coach Rick Puleri said. “Our defense in the second half was really good, limiting them to contested shots and few offensive rebounds.”

Lee (14-7) advances to the Round of 16, where it has a rematch at No. 8 Drury. Back on Dec. 30, the Blue Devils earned a 54-32 win in Lee.
