PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Bri’Awn Thompson scored 18 points Friday to lead the Pittsfield boys basketball team to a 64-51 win over Sci-Tech in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.

The Generals put the game away in the second and third quarters, when they outscored the fifth-seeded Cybercats, 47-24, to take a 52-31 lead into the final period.

Thompson scored seven points, and Freddie Conyers scored six of his eight points in the second quarter.

Kyle Cardoso (14 points) scored eight points, and Prosper Ezan scored all six of his points in the third.

“Thompson also had a few nifty passes to our inside players, who were able to finish through the Sci-Tech defense,” Pittsfield coach Jereme Edgerton said. “The Generals are on the longest winning streak of the season at five games and are looking forward to semi-finals of Western Mass tournament.

“Things are coming together at the right time we are starting to get contributions from everyone, and that is what it will take to reach our goals for this team.”

In the regional semi-finals, Pittsfield will face either Frontier or top-seeded Taconic, who play on Monday.
