PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Kyle Cardoso scored 30 points, and the Pittsfield boys basketball team Friday bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 100-55 win over Commerce.

Cardoso led four Generals in double figures.

Sophomore Quincy Abellie scored a career-high 21 points. Cam Zerbato and Freddy Conyers added 12 and 10, respectively.

Pittsfield held Commerce to just 35 points through three quarters and put the game away with a 38-10 third quarter, when Cardoso scored 23 points.

“The defensive pressure caused turnovers, and from there was able to get out in transition,” Pittsfield coach Jerome Edgerton said. “As the head coach, I could not be prouder of this program with the boys coming off the last game losing to Minnechaug. It feels good to be back in the ‘W’ column.”

Pittsfield (4-1) goes to Monument Mountain on Jan. 3.
