Bassi Blast Helps Lift Generals at Drury

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Ella Bassi went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double Wednesday to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 12-6 win at Drury in the Generals’ season opener.
 
Bassi drove in a team-high four runs in a 15-hit Pittsfield attack.
 
Nevaeh Lopez and Sadie Aitken each had three hits. Lopez had a double and a triple, and Aitken doubled.
 
Paxton Ebling and Gionnah Levardi each had two hits and each doubled.
 
Mia Dejesus went the distance in the circle, striking out six and allowing just three earned runs.
 
For Drury, Olivia Perry pitched five innings, striking out six and giving up four earned runs. She also helped the cause offensively by going 2-for-4 with a double. Norah Wood also was 2-for-4 for the Blue Devils.
 
Drury (0-2) goes to Taconic on Saturday.
 
Pittsfield (1-0) hosts Greenfield on Saturday.
