Pittsfield Boys Rally for Road Win at Westfield
WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Kyle Cardoso scored 22 points, and the Pittsfield boys basketball team Wednesday outscored Westfield, 18-12, in the fourth quarter to earn a 58-53 win on the road.
Cardoso scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, going 6-for-6 at the the free throw line in the period.
Freddy Conyers also hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth on his way to an eight-point night.
"It was intense battle throughout the game," Pittsfield coach Jerome Edgerton said. "PHS was down a starter and two others were hurt, but we stuck together and pulled out a tough victory on the road. The fourth was back and forth, but thanks to some timely 3s and foul shooting PHS pulled out an tough victory."
Bri'Awn Thompson scored 13 points, and Camden Zerbato added eight.
Mario Tinsley junior scored 37 points to lead the Bombers.
Pittsfield (3-0) goes to Minnechaug on Monday.
