Wahconah Takes Care of Business Against Chicopee

Alfonso scored seven points, and Sam McLaughlin had five in the first quarter, when Wahconah jumped out to a 19-4 lead.
“We came out ready to play from the opening tip, proud of the effort tonight,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “We did a great job sharing the basketball and played very well defensively.”
McLaughlin had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jack DuCharme and Aidan Hagmaier each scored six points in the win.
Wahconah finishes the regular season at 8-12. It went into the game ranked 29th in Division 4 in the latest MIAA in-season power rankings; the top 32 teams after Thursday night will be seeded into the state tournament.
