Hoosac Valley Tops Mount Everett in Western Mass Tourney

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Trevor Moynihan scored 24 points, and Adan Wicks added 23 Friday to lead the Hoosac Valley  boys basketball team to a 74-59 win over Mount Everett in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.

 

Ben Payton scored 11, and Will Hakes added eight for the third-seeded Hurricanes (8-11) who move on to the semi-finals to face No. 2 Duggan, an 80-67 winner over Veritas Prep on Friday.

 

Dominic Germain led Mount Everett with 13 points. Brady Carpenter, Sean Warren and James Green each scored eight in the loss.

 

The Eagles (11-8) wait to hear who they will play in their regular season finale.
