McGovern Leads Hurricanes past Easthampton

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Joey McGovern Thursday scored all 14 of his points in the third quarter as the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team took control of the game en route to a 59-43 win over Easthampton.

 

The Hurricanes went to the locker room at half-time down, 27-25.

 

But they outscored the Eagles, 27-4, in the third quarter to build a commanding 25-point lead.

 

Frank Field scored six of his team-high 17 points in the decisive third quarter. He also pulled down 12 rebounds.

 

McGovern passed out seven assists to go with his 14 points.

 

Adan Wicks scored 17, Qwanell Bradley contributed seven.

 

Hoosac Valley (6-2) hosts Pioneer Valley on Tuesday.
