Taconic Boys Rally Past Monument Mountain

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass – Kyle McGrath scored 22 points, and the Taconic boys basketball team Monday rallied in the second half to earn a 62-57 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Nate Reynolds scored 17 for the Thunder, who trailed, 39-25, at half-time after Isaiah Keefner (16 points) scored nine in the third quarter.
 
“Monument led, 44-27, with five minutes to go in the third period and went ice cold from the floor and was outscored, 35-13, for the rest of the game,” Monument Mountain coach Randy Koldys said.
 
Nate Reynolds (17 points) made three of his five 3-pointers in the second half.
 
Elijah Harewood and Quentin Christopher each scored seven points for the Thunder.
 
Manny Brown scored a game-high 24 and Griffin McElroy added 15 for the Spartans.
 
Monument Mountain finishes the regular season 16-2 and waits to see who it will face in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.
 
Taconic (14-3) is at Commerce on Wednesday.
