Agawam Boys Hold Off Taconic in Fourth Quarter

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Elijah Maldonado scored 15 points Friday to lead the Agawam boys basketball team to a 49-45 win over Taconic.

 

After holding the visitors to three points in the second quarter to take a 21-17 lead, the Thunder scored just three points in the third quarter to fall behind, 37-24.

 

Ceasar Santos scored 12 of his team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter to help Taconic erase most of that deficit, but Agawam was able to pull out the win.

 

Kyle McGrath scored 11 points, and Martin Boua added 10 for Taconic.

 

The Thunder (12-3) is at Wahconah on Tuesday.
