Flynn Tosses No-Hitter as Lenox Pounds Fenway
LENOX, Mass. – Lenox’s Cassidy Flynn struck out 12, walked one and allowed no hits in a five-inning, 17-0 win over Fenway Saturday in the Division 5 State Tournament preliminary round.
The Millionaires pounded out 22 hits in advancing to the Round of 32 via the “mercy rule.”
Grace Julieano went 2-for-3 with a home run.
Amber Arseneau and Lily MacDonald each went 3-for-4 with a double. MacDonald drove in four runs to lead Lenox in that department.
Aliza Munch had three RBIs in a 4-for-4 day at the plate.
Twenty-first seeded Lenox (11-9) advances to play on Sunday morning at No. 12 Hoosac Valley (12-7). The Hurricanes edged Lenox, 11-10, in a regular season meeting back on April 15 at Russell Field.
