Flynn Walkoff Single Completes Lenox Comeback to Beat Lee

LENOX, Mass. – Cassidy Flynn hit a walkoff single Monday as the Lenox softball team rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 6-5 win over Lee in a rematch of the South County and Bi-County rivals.
 
Evelyn Julieano started the winning rally with a leadoff double and went to third on an error.
 
Grace Julieano then bunted her way on base, driving in her sister to make it 6-4.
 
Amaya Alger singled to right to put runners on the corners with nobody out.
 
Amber Arseneau then laid down a bunt that scored Grace Julieano and left runners at first and second.
 
Flynn then singled to the left side to score Alger for the winning run.
 
In addition to her game-winning hit, Flynn went the distance in the circle, striking out six, walking two and allowing two earned runs.
 
“Cassidy had a great game,” Lenox coach Amy Pires said. “She kept her composure and trusted her fielders. We asked a lot of her today and she stepped up and got us the win. Very proud of her and the team.”
 
Alger led Lenox’s offense, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
 
Lee got a home run and a pair of RBis from Karalynn Hopkins and a 3-for-4 day at the plate from Bri Lynch.
 
Lynch struck out 14 and walked three in a complete game in the circle.
 
The Wildcats (5-2) host Smith Vocational on Wednesday.
 
Lenox (1-3) goes to Westfield Tech on Wednesday.
