Hoosac Valley Outlasts Wahconah in Two OTs

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Trevor Moynihan scored 19 points, and the Hoosac Valley boys basketball team Monday outscored Wahconah, 15-3, in the second overtime to earn a 72-60 win.
 
The Hurricanes overcame a nine-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to force OT.
 
Adan Wicks (15 points) scored seven in the fourth quarter to help Hoosac Valley outscore the visitors, 18-9, over the last eight minutes of regulation.
 
Wicks then scored six, including 3-of-4 foul shooting, in OT.
 
Qwanell Bradley scored seven of his 15 points in the extra session.
 
Will Wakes was the fourth Hurricane in double figures with 13 points.
 
Wahconah also had four players in double figures, led by Sam McLaughlin with 15 points.
 
Jack DuCharme scored 13, and Adan Hagmaier and Evan Alfonso added 12 and 10, respectively.
 
Wahconah (2-5) hosts Agawam on Thursday.
 
Hoosac Valley (3-2) hosts Greenfield on Friday.
