WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield softball team Thursday used three unearned runs to earn a 3-2 win over Pittsfield.

The Generals rallied for two runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut into a three-run deficit.

Kamryn Renata walked with the bases loaded to bring home Pittsfield’s first run. Then Paxton Ebling grounded into a fielder’s choice to drive in Amanda Pou.

But the Bombers got the next out on a line drive to leave two runners in scoring position.

In the top of the seventh, Mia Arpante reached with two out when she was hit by a pitch, but Westfield pitcher Shea Hurley (nine strikeouts) left her at first base.

Pou had the lone hit for Pittsfield, a single.

She also went the distance in the circle, striking out one and allowing just two hits.

Pittsfield (2-2) hosts Hoosac Valley on Saturday afternoon.
