SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Marley Makowski hit a pair of triples and drove in four runs Thursday to lead the Chicopee Comprehensive softball team to a 9-5 win over Mount Everett.

The Colts scored nine runs on just eight hits and took advantage of four Eagles errors.

“We just didn't seem like we wanted to be out there today versus Chicopee Comp,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Kudos to their coach for getting their girls up to play with heart and intensity which was a big part of the game today we lacked all around. We had some missed opportunities at the plate and some simple mental mistakes in the field that would have changed the outcome.”

Julia Devoti struck out 10 in the circle for the Eagles, going the distance and allowing just four earned runs.

Makayla Carpenter led Mount Everett’s offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Meg Loring also went 3-for-4.

Mount Everett (2-2) hosts Wahconah on Saturday.
