Ludlow Edges McCann Tech Softball

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Madison Sunderland went 2-for-3 with an RBI and pitched a three-hitter to lead the Ludlow softball team to a 3-0 over McCann Tech on Thursday.

 

The Lions jumped on top early with two runs in the top of the first, and Sunderland held down the Hornets’ offense the rest of the way.

 

Hannah Tatro and McCann Tech’s defense, meanwhile, recovered after the early hiccup. Tatro allowed just four hits and struck out two while allowing two earned runs in a complete-game effort.

 

“Another good game for the Hornets,” McCann Tech coach Robin Finnegan said. Great defense on both ends. Much improved from the first time around.”

 

On opening day earlier this month Ludlow handed the Hornets an 8-0 setback.

 

McCann Tech (4-5) hosts Ware on Friday.
