McCann Tech Softball Falls to Monson

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Monson's Carly Zielinski struck out nine and scattered four hits to lead her team to a 13-1 win over McCann Tech on Monday afternoon.

 

Alanza Quinones tripled for the Hornets (5-4), who committed seven errors behind pitcher Haley Malloy (six strikeouts, nine walks, eight hits).

 

"Haley is working very hard at keeping us in the game," McCann coach Kate Galli said. "She is playing through some arm issues, but is doing a good job at keeping us in the ball games.

 

"Alanza Quinones not only hit a triple today, but does a fantastic job behind the plate. She threw out the first baserunner of the game trying to steal and handles Haley very well. She is a wall back there."

 

McCann hosts Ware on Tuesday.
