WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Chase Racine doubled home a run in the top of the eighth, and Pittsfield went on to a 3-2 win over West Springfield on Wednesday.

Racine went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple to lead an eight-hit Pittsfield attack as the Generals finished the regular season with a record of 9-8 and three wins in their last four games.

Patrick Rindfuss went the distance to earn the win on the mound, striking out six and allowing no earned runs in eight innings of work.

The Generals scored a run in the top of the fifth to tie the game, 2-2, when Tommy Mullin drove in Cam Sime, who had stolen second to get into scoring position.

In the eighth, Rindfuss hit a one-out single and moved up on a wild pitch ahead of Racine’s game-winning double to right.

Pittsfield learns Thursday who it will meet in the first round of next week’s Western Mass tournament.
