Pittsfield Baseball Plays Another Game Suspended by Darkness

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – For the second time this spring, the Pittsfield baseball team will need two days to complete a game.
 
The Generals Friday saw their game against West Springfield suspended by darkness with the score 6-6 after seven innings.
 
“Our boys fought hard all day long and scored one run in each of the last three innings to tie it up, but couldn’t quite put West Springfield away,” Pittsfield coach Drew Pearce said.
 
Jack Reed hit a sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the seventh to drive in Connor Devine and force extra innings.
 
Reed was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs in the game. Jack Duquette and Simon Mele each doubled, and Nick Brindle was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
 
Four different pitchers saw action for Pittsfield, Roshan Warriar went three innings, striking out three and allowing just one base runner without giving up a run.
 
The Generals (3-1), who finished a suspended game against Longmeadow on Wednesday, host Chicopee Comprehensive on Monday.
