Pittsfield Baseball Opener Suspended by Darnkess (Sunset, Not Eclipse)

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Jack Duquette went 2-for-4 with a double Monday in the Pittsfield baseball team’s season opener, which was suspended due to darkness with the game tied, 3-3, after eight innings at Longmeadow.
 
Nick Brindle and Jackson Almeida each had a hit and an RBI for the Generals.
 
Simon Mele started on the mound and went three innings, striking out eight and allowing no earned runs. Brayden Gutzmer threw seven scoreless innings, striking out seven.
 
Matthew Burega threw the eighth, not allowing a hit.
 
Pittsfield is at Chicopee on Tuesday.
