Wahconah Scores Late to Edge Mount Greylock

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wahconah baseball team Thursday rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to earn a 9-6 win over Mount Greylock.
 
James Rabuse led off the seventh by earning a walk. He moved up on a Carter Drake sacrifice bunt and scored on a ground ball by Ryan Marauszwski.
 
Marauszwski reached on the play, stole second and scored on a Colby Robb single to make it 8-6.
 
With two out and Robb on second, Dom Marcella reached on an error that scored a run to finish the scoring.
 
Rabuse, who went to the mound in the fifth inning, struck out the side in order in the bottom of the seventh to earn the win.
 
Luke Ferguson led Wahconah’s offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Beau Walton was 2-for-4 with a double.
 
Rabuse struck out eight and allowed no earned run in his win.
 
Mount Greylock’s Jason Jaros and Tommy Art split pitching duties, striking out seven and allowing seven earned runs.
 
Art and Cole Wetherell had the only two hits for the Mounties, who scored four unearned runs.
 
Mount Greylock (3-5) goes to Drury on Monday.
 
Wahconah (7-2) is home against Amherst-Pelham on Tuesday.
