Lenox's Girls Join Boys with League Title

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Lenox’s girls ski team Monday won a slalom race at Bousquet to sew up the county championship at the final Berkshire County High School Alpine League event of the season.

 

Madison DiGrigoli was the fastest racer down the mountain, clocking a time of 43.24 seconds ahead of runner up Eliza Mullen of Pittsfield (45.07).

 

Lenox’s MacKenzie Valenzuela skied to a third-place finish, and Adelina Scalise and Emma Addy rounded out the scoring for the Millionaires.

 

DiGrigoli also claimed the individual championship for the season with her third win of the season and 98 points (20 points per win, 19 for second, etc.) in six races.

 

Mullen ended up second in the individual battle with 96 points.

 

Lenox’s Oliver Kirby won the boys season individual title with his second win of the year on Monday night and 96 points to help the Millionaires win the team title, which they clinched last week in race No. 5.

 

The Top 10 girls and Top 10 boys will represent Berkshire County at the State Alpine Championships on Feb. 25 at Berkshire East.
