Mount Greylock Boys Win at Prospect Mountain

WOODFORD, Vt. – Andrew Holland and Benjamin Mandel finished 1-2 for Mount Greylock on Saturday to lead the Mounties to a team victory in the Berkshire County Nordic Ski League race at Prospect Mountain.

 

Holland clocked a time of 17 minutes, 44 seconds. Mandel finished in 17:50, six seconds ahead of Chris Hyatt, who led Wahconah to a second-place finish.

 

Mount Greylock placed three racers in the top five with Nathan Gill placing fifth.

 

Lenox’s boys placed fifth in the seven-team field. Jackson Carhart led the way for the Millionaires with a 16th-place finish.

 

Mohawk Trail’s girls picked up their first team win of the season as Corrine Somes and Ada Comer led the way with a 1-2 finish of their own.

 

Mount Greylock was the top Berkshire County team, placing third, 11 points behind second-place Amherst. Mounties Josephine Bay (sixth) and Maya Filson (eighth) placed in the top 10.

 

The fourth-place Lenox girls were led by Jane Elliot, who placed fourth out of 37 finishers. Wahconah was led by Lily Cook, who placed 28th.
