Lenox Girls Down Abington to Open State Tourney

LENOX, Mass. – The seventh-seeded Lenox girls tennis team Wednesday opened the Division 4 State Tournament with a 4-1 win over Abington.
 
Rory Lenehan and Katie Shove earned straight-set wins at first and second singles, respectively.
 
The Millionaires swept the doubles points with wins from the tandems of Nicky Illingworth/Caroline Kump and Gali Gomez/Reeva Patel.
 
Lenox (15-1) advances to host No. 10 Monomoy (15-4), a 5-0 winner over Rockport on Wednesday, in the Round of 16.
