Taconic Picks Up Two Wins at Athol Meet

ATHOL, Mass. -- Taconic wrestlers Aiden Reyes and West Dews Saturday brought home individual titles form the season-opening Bears Invitational at Athol High School.
 
Reyes pinned Montachusett's Caleb Livergood in the championship bout at 165 pounds.
 
Dews won at 144 pounds with a 46-second pin of Natick's Angelo Macchiano.
 
The pair led the Thunder to a seventh-place finish in the 13-team field.
 
Natick won the event with 257 points and eight individual titles.
 
Mount Greylock was the top Berkshire County team at Athol.
 
The Mounties placed fifth behind three wrestlers who posted runner-up finishes: Brody Smith at 150, Jacob Borawski at 175 and Jayquan Vazquez at 190.
 
Monument Mountain placed ninth with a pair of second-place finishes. Kamren Boino at 157 and Sam St. Peter at 285 each reached the final in his respective weight class.
