Relays Lift Spartan Girls in Dual Meet Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Monument Mountain girls track and field team Wednesday swept the relays en route to an 85-56 dual meet win over Pittsfield at Taconic High School.

 

Polly Geddes and Amelia Desilets each ran a leg on the winning 4-by-800 relay quartet and earned an individual win. Geddes won the 800 meters, and Desilets won the 1600.

 

Mount Greylock’s girls also took a dual meet win from the Generals.

 

Maggie Nichols swept the 100 and 200, and Katherine Goss swept the hurdles on the track for the Mounties. Their teammate Lily Catelotti won the shot put and the discus.

 

In the boys meet, Mount Greylock’s Chase Doyle won four events to lead the Mounties to a team win over Pittsfield.

 

Doyle took first in the 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, high jump and long jump.

 

Pittsfield’s boys beat Monument Mountain behind wins by Owen Klatka in the 400 and the triple jump.
