Mount Greylock Rolls Up Titles at Individuals Meet

CHESHIRE, Mass. – The Mount Greylock girls and boys track and field teams each took home seven titles from Saturday’s Berkshire County Individuals at Hoosac Valley High School.

 

Chase Doyle took first in the 110-meter hurdles and high jump to lead the Mounties’ boys.

 

Mount Greylock also got wins from Matteo Chang (100), Caleb Low (800) and Daniel Warren (long jump). Quinn McDermott cleared 9 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault in the first time that event has been contested in the Berkshire County league this spring.

 

And the Mounties’ 4-by-100 relay quartet edged Wahconah by six one-hundredths of a second to take first place.

 

In the girls meet, Mount Greylock’s girls took first in the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400 relays, and Katherine Goss and Lily McDermott split the hurdles with Goss winning the 100 and McDermott the 400.

 

Mount Greylock also got wins from Chase Hoey in the triple jump, Lily Catelotti in the discus and Charlotte Coody in the javelin.

 

Other than Doyle, the only double winner on Saturday was Wahconah’s Payton Shippee, who took first in the discus and the javelin.
