Wahconah Hockey Closes Out Regular Season, Looks to Tourney

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- After his team qualified for the Western Mass tournament on Tuesday, Wahconah coach Don Disbrow took a "big picture" approach to Wednesday's game against West Springfield.

 

And after Shane Wilkinson scored two goals to lead the visitors to an 8-4 win, Disbrow was not sounding the alarm.

 

"We played everyone -- all four lines and both goalies," Disbrow said. "It was a great experience for the younger players.

 

"Tonight was about playing for each other, leadership and development. Tomorrow, we focus on the first round."

 

Andrew Beaudoin had a goal and two assists to lead Wahconah, which got goals from Mike Bloom, Jeff Hancock and Nate Lapine.
